Where this comes from

Compiled from FinSMEs, which publishes individual funding announcements for the US, the UK and 29 European countries, retrieved 8 September 2026 through its public API at the crawl rate its robots.txt asks for. Every row keeps its source URL, so any figure can be checked at the origin.

Amounts are as reported in the announcement. Non-dollar rounds are converted using European Central Bank daily reference rates for the announcement date, not a flat annual rate. The original amount and currency are always preserved.

What it does not cover

  • This is one publisher's coverage, not the whole market. Rounds it did not report are not here.
  • Rounds with an undisclosed amount are excluded, since they cannot pass the $5M floor. European coverage on this publisher is thinner than its US coverage, so treat country counts as a floor, not a census.
  • Valuations are stripped out, so a headline like "raises $1B at $30B valuation" records $1B.
  • VC and PE fund closes are removed. Those are investors raising, not companies spending.
  • Lead investor and use of funds appear only where the announcement stated them, roughly 4 rounds in 10.

How to use it

The left edge of each row shows age: coral for the last 30 days, blue for 31 to 90, grey beyond that. Recency matters because the months after a raise are often when plans become action: hiring begins, markets open, products launch and teams grow.

Click any row to open what the company itself said it would do with the money. That sentence, not the amount, is the reason to make contact.
