About

A network organised around company change.

LinkedIn is organised around people and content. AfterRaise is organised around what companies are doing and the opportunities that creates. The graph is company, then move, then opportunity, then person, then outcome.

It starts with funding because a round is the clearest public signal that a company is about to change quickly. The site currently holds 2,311 funding events announced by companies in the US, the UK and 29 European countries, and it updates every morning.

Provenance

Three layers, never mixed

Observed
What public sources show, with a link to the source on every figure.
Inferred
What AfterRaise derives from those signals, and says that it derived.
Declared
What the company tells us directly, after a person has reviewed it.
Preview
Sample content on fictional companies, shown while the network opens so you can see how it works.

We never attach a claim to a real company that the company did not make. That is why company-published Moves on real companies are empty until the company writes them, rather than filled with something plausible.

How ranking works

The feed model, in public

Six inputs, each normalised, each documented. It runs in your browser, which is why the feed changes the moment you edit your profile.

Relevance
35%
Your industries, regions, company stages and the problems you said you solve.
Opportunity intent
25%
How strongly the item signals an active need: hiring, expansion, a supplier need, an open request.
Recency
15%
Decay with an eleven-day half life. A Move matters while the decision is still open.
Company momentum
10%
Several signals clustering on one company.
Contributor quality
10%
Insights only. Everything else takes a neutral value so a company's own Move is never penalised.
Relationship
5%
Companies, people and markets you follow.

Two things are deliberately absent. There is no engagement input: no clicks, no dwell time, no reactions, because a network ranked on engagement becomes a network optimised for provocation. And ranking is not for sale. Sponsored placement, if it ever exists, will be labelled and will sit outside the ranked feed. The code is at /net/ranking.js and you can read it.

Where the data comes from

And what we do not do

Every row is compiled from public funding announcements, and every figure links to its source so you can verify it at the origin. Descriptions of companies are quoted from those announcements and attributed. Amounts announced in pounds or euros are converted to dollars using European Central Bank daily reference rates for the announcement date; the original amount and currency are always kept.

We do not publish personal contact details. We do not sell or alter the data rows, and any sponsored placement is always labelled. Rounds whose amount was not disclosed are excluded because they cannot be checked against our threshold. Coverage is a strong sample of the market, not a census.

Offers to help are private to the company that receives them. Service providers cannot message companies in bulk, and a company that declines a category never sees approaches of that kind.
